WhenMicrosoft Flight Simulatorwas revealed at XO19 last year, it was immediately touted as one of the mostvisually impressive games coming to the Xbox One’s lineup. Not only did it boast incredible visuals and a wide selection of planes, but it also showed them off in an incredible gameplay trailer that wowed thousands of viewers. Xbox users haven’t seen much since, however, a lengthy amount of leaked footage found online yesterday quickly changed that.
Thanks to a YouTube channel named Jose Carlos, over fifty minutes of new gameplay fromMicrosoft Flight Simulatormade its way online, with the general online consensus agreeing that it’s incredibly impressive. Narrated presumably by Carlos himself, the gameplay takes the viewer through a number of different situations, showcasing how weather conditions, times of day, and different aircrafts are simulated by the game’s incredible visual effects.

Unfortunately, the leaked footage for the game has, as expected, disappeared without a trace. However, anumber of reports surrounding the footagedescribe the cockpit and sky looking almost photorealistic. Shown through two videos, the first apparently sees Carlos showcase the plane taking off and landing, with the controls looking incredibly nuanced and complex. The second supposedly shows off more of the game’s visual power, with the player flying through a violent rainstorm. Here is whereMicrosoft Flight Simulator’svisual prowess is shown off to the fullest, with the game apparently depicting shockingly authentic lightning and rain, with the latter supposedly splashing off the player’s windshield to a scarily realistic degree.
Of course,Microsoft Flight Simulatoris already lined up to be one of the more visually impressivemarquee titles coming to the Xbox Oneand Microsoft PC storefront this year. The company’s comments could seemingly also hint at a next-generation release, which would be wise for Microsoft seen as the visuals reportedly shown throughMicrosoft Flight Simulator’sgameplay would be a phenomenal demonstration of the Xbox Series X’s power.
Although there are still no solid rumors as to what launch titles Microsoft will look to launch alongside the Xbox Series X, it makes sense to imagine thatMicrosoft Flight Simulatorcould see a dual release on both the Xbox One and its next-generation counterpart. With the team behind Forza rumored to be working ona sequel to theFableseries, some form of beautiful vehicular game will be in need when the console launches at the tail-end of this year, and no title would take that place better thanMicrosoft Flight Simulator.
Microsoft Flight Simulatoris due to release on Xbox One and PC later this year.
