A hands-on preview on the PlayStation Blog has shared more details on this new mode, while Maximilian Dood has also uploaded a video on it. In Invasion, players will be exploring a board game-like map seemingly designed around the locations in theMortal Kombatuniverse. Users will be able to take a party of characters on an adventure of sorts, allowing them to level up these units and equip them with new loot. It appears that maps will be somewhat linear in the beginning, before becoming more complex during the latter stages of the mode.

Invasion will feature a ton of unlockables, as players will be earning in-game kurrency, concept art, cosmetics, and other items as they play through the mode. Furthermore, gamers will be able to experience different mini-games as they explore each map in this mode. NetherRealm Studios has also confirmed that it will continue to update the Invasion game mode, so it looks likeMortal Kombat 1will feature a variety of single-player content, in addition to story mode, to keep fans busy.
