Bursting onto the scene with a creepy announcement trailer back in March of this year,Quantum Errorlooks to be a terrifying new sci-fi horror action game slated to hit PlayStation 4,PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X at some point next year. The game takes place in an eerie research facility and sees players battling zombie-like monsters as they explore its eerie hallways.

Although not much is currently known about the game outside of its chilling trailers, the studio behind the upcoming release, TeamKill Media, has recently seen fit to share some new screenshots. Both images don’t give much away aboutQuantum Error’splot or focus, although, they do show off more of the world players will be exploring when the game finally debuts.

The first screenshot was shared on October 17, with TeamKill Media revealing that it was a work in progress image from the first cutscene in the game. The shot focuses on a group of astronauts in high-tech space suits, standing afore a large space shuttle on a rocky planet surface. FromQuantum Error’sstory trailerthat launched back in August, it seems the main campaign takes place mostly within a research facility on earth, so the image could offer the first hint at where the game’s horrifying antagonists came from. Speculation aside, the shot is incredibly detailed, with a lot of attention paid to the environments and star-filled skybox.

The second image arrived yesterday, and is described by the team as a first look at one ofQuantum Error’snew environments as well as the game’s minigun. The area, once again, is definitely not on earth, so it seems players will be visiting intergalactic environments outside of the game’s research facility during their journey.

The image looks rife with detail, as players see a giant industrial structure and floating rocks in the distance with the view of a distant planet filling the sky in the background. The minigun is also appropriately meaty, withTeamKill Mediaobviously spending a lot of time ensuring its look matches its deadly potential.

For those who haven’t seenQuantum Error’strailers, the game follows a Fireman called Jacob Thomas who is tasked with heading to the Monad Quantum Research Facility after a distress call is discovered emanating from the location. Upon arriving at the facility, Thomas is quickly plunged into a battle against an unknown entity, having to fight for his life against hordes of grotesque monsters and other, more mysterious enemies.

Quantum Errorwill launch in late 2021 for PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
