EA’s new single-player first-person magic shooterImmortals of Aveumnow has a release date of July 20 across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.Immortals of Aveumwas first revealed at The Game Awards 2022in a cinematic teaser trailer that revealed the basic concept behind the game, but did not reveal many other details.

Immortals of Aveumis developed by the Ascendant Studios, a studio comprised of award-winning industry veterans. The game has been in development for the past five years, and while the initial trailerdrew comparisons to games likeAvowed,Immortals of Aveumshould be able to carve out an identity of its own when it releases this July.

As explained by EA,Immortals of Aveumis the story of Jak, a character who “joins an elite order battlemages” and masters magic attacks. Magic is categorized as blue, green, and red, with players able to chain together attacks while exploringImmortals of Aveum’s unique fantasy world. Jak will be played byNever Have I Ever’s Darren Barnet, whereasGina Torres ofFireflyfamewill be voicing the character General Kirkan. General Kirkan recruits Jack to join the Order of Immortals after he is discovered to be an Unforeseen, which is someone who initially did not have magic powers, but mysterious develops them later in their life.

WhenImmortals of Aveumlaunches on July 20, it will be priced similarly to other AAA games currently on the market, meaning it has a $70 price tag on consoles. But whilethose on PlayStation and Xbox can expect to pay $70forImmortals of Aveum, those on PC will only have to pay $60. No reason has been given as to why there is a discrepancy between the price of the PC version and the price of the console versions.

Those impressed byImmortals of Aveum’s trailer and find themselves wanting to pre-order the game should know that pre-orders are open now. Anyone that pre-ordersImmortals of Aveumwill get the Purified Arclight sigil, which buffs Jak’s spells. This sounds like apay-to-win advantageon paper, but since the game is a single-player, it’s unlikely to upset too many potentialImmortals of Aveumplayers. There will also be a Deluxe Edition available ($70 on PC, $80 on consoles) that comes with a unique sigil, three rings, two bracers, and three totems.
