Nintendo Switch gamers can officially mark October 26 on their calendars as the day thatDave the Diverlaunches for their platform of choice. The deep-sea exploration game is coming to the Switch as a timed console exclusive. It’s possible that PlayStation and Xbox versions ofDave the Diverwill materialize at some point, but the Switch version will be available first. All of this was announced during thelatest Nintendo Direct presentation, withDave the Diverpromoted alongside heavy-hitting first-party Nintendo titles, other exciting indies, and third-party releases that are planned for the Switch. Many of the other games highlighted during the Nintendo Direct are highly-anticipated, but considering just how well-receivedDave the Diverhas been on PC, Switch gamers are in for a treat.
Dave the Diverreviews have been overwhelmingly positive, leading it to have an impressive 89 overall critic rating. This makesDave the Diverone of the highest-rated new video game releases of the year. In fact,Dave the Diverhas managed to crack the top 20 highest-rated games of 2023, and it’s likely to maintain that distinction by the time the year is out. It will be interesting to see if this will translate toDave the Divergetting any nods at The Game Awards in December.
ConsideringDave the Diver’s critical acclaim, Game Awards nominations seem likely, though fans will have to wait and see on that front.
