The third area ofPac-Man World: Re-Pacsees the yellow dot muncher in space, taking on a variety of enemies. When comparing this area from the remake to the original, a lot of the colors have been streamlined to make it more uniform, while also giving a more mysterious space-like vibe to the game. The spaceship section where Pac-Man flies through aGradius-inspired segment has also been redone, with the enemies and background becoming a bit brighter in comparison. The trailer also briefly shows off how a boss known as Galaxian has changed, with it now being larger and having more distinct weakpoint indicators.

The fourth area ofthe originalPac-Man Worldis a circus-inspired level, with wacky carnival games and platforming hazards throughout. The remake’s graphics play into this, making everything brighter and more vibrant compared to the original. This is even reflected with the area being more uniform in its color scheme too. A section from the original which involves a bumper car race has also been changed, where the player is now in first-person while racing down the slide instead of third-person.

Bandai Namco also showed off how the opening intro cutscene has been completely remade, where Pac-Man’s family has been kidnapped in goofier ways by the ghosts compared to the original. It also shows off many redesigned members of the Pac-Family, such as Pac-Man’s wife, where due to the complicated legal history of theMs. Pac-Mangame and character, has a completely different outfit and is now known as Pac-Mom.
