Summary
A creativePokemonfan has recently designed a new past Paradox form for Rapidash, turning the creature into a Ground/Flying-type monster. Ever since the release ofPokemon Scarlet and Violet, many artists in thePokemoncommunity have been creating unofficial Paradox forms, and this recent piece showcases how interesting they can be.
Rapidash originally appeared as one of thePokemon available in the first generation of the franchise. In all versions of Gen 1 games, excluding the Japanese version ofPokemon Blue, this Fire-type Pokemon can only be obtained by evolving Ponyta after reaching Level 40. InPokemon Sword and Shield, Rapidash received a regional variant with Psychic-type. However, the monster currently does not have any official Paradox form.
Now, aPokemonfan called Kr4ckle gave Rapidash a Ground/Flying-type past Paradox form called Waxen Pinions, or Hippouranos. In this new form, which is inspired by a Pegasus, the creature keeps the horse shape but loses the horn and gains wings, and its light yellow fur becomes white. This Paradox Pokemon also comes with a bit of lore, as the creature is said to like hanging around Bug-type monsters that produce wax, and it generally avoids sunlight. Hippouranos has two abilities: High Horse, which allows it to use Ground-type moves on Flying-type creatures, and Wax Coat, which sharply boosts its critical chances, but increases damage taken by Fire.
Rapidash Past Paradox Form Pokemon Fan Art
Kr4ckle’s idea resembles anotherPokemonartwork shared by a fan back in May. At the time, an artist created aFlying-type regional variant for Ponytawhich was also greatly inspired by a Pegasus. In this case, however, the Ponyta looks quite different, as it has a completely distinct face, wings made out of blue feathers, golden boots, and a wheelchair for its back paws.
While Paradox forms for Rapidash are not common, some fans have used the creature in fusions before. Last year, for example, a fan made animpressive fusion of Rapidash and Giratina. This unusual fusion essentially transported most of Giratina’s features to Rapidash’s body, creating a nightmarish horse that looked as if it had a black mask and a metal golden crown, as well as a ghostly black mane.
A few years ago, anotherfan created a fusion of Rapidash and Milotic. By using a program to fuse both creatures, the fan came up with a monster that resembled a mermaid with a unicorn head and looked very different from both of the original inspirations.
