Summary

An artistically talentedPokemonfan has come up with quite the creative concept for what it would look like if the classic Legendary Pokemon Suicune had a human form. ThePokemonfanbase has a long history of re-imagining some of their favorite creatures in a wide variety of different forms, with a humanized version of Suicine being the latest standout example.

A purely Water-type Legendary, Suicune was introduced as part ofPokemon’s second generation, and was the cover mascot ofPokemon Crystal. It is one-third of the Legendary beast trio of the Johto region, which is also comprised of Entei and Raikou. While Suicune has been out of the spotlight for a while,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetrevealed a Paradox Suicune and Raikouearlier this year, although fan reception to their radically different designs appears to have been largely negative.

The impressive humanoid version of Suicune comes from a prolificPokemonartist and Redditor called endifi, who posted their creative design to one of the site’s primaryPokemonforums. The piece is quite the clever one, with many of Suicune’s defining features well-translated. The human version features a slender frame along with flowing purple hair, as well as flowing blue fabric decorated with Suicune’s signature diamond pattern. Suicune’s ribbon-like tails are translated as actual handheld ribbons, and its chin tuft has become a necklace. Sparkles and crystal-like surrounding the redesign help give the artwork a magical, ethereal look.

Pokemonfans who have seen the unique piece of art seem to be enjoying it, as the post has amassed plenty of upvotes within a few hours of posting. While it is certainly impressive, it is far from the first time endifi has come up with designs for a Pokemon in human form. Just a few days ago, the artist made headlines for their take ona human version of Raikou. Like with Suicune (and also an Entei), the artist takes the Legendary’s defining features and cleverly converts them into clothing or accessories, with each quite diverse in appearance.

The artist has noted that they are making a human version of everyPokemon in national Dex order. Suicune is only number 245, and with over 1,000 Pokemon listed in the national Dex, the artist has a long way to go.

Beyond giving Suicune a human body, some fans have put Suicune directly onto their own body. Earlier this year, aPokemonfan got an incredible tattoo of Suicunefeaturing extremely vivid colors, shading, and detail. The numerous and various artworks featuringPokemon’s Suicune are just another example of the enduring popularity so many older generation Pokemon still retain today.
