Of the 1025 different Pokemon currently in existence, only 46 have at least one Mega Evolution as of this writing - with some even having multiple forms. This leaves the door wide open forcreativePokemonfans to draw new Mega Evolutionsfor creatures that don’t have an official one yet, with some of the most recent examples being Pikachu’s cute Baby form Pichu and the Gen 3 Grass/Dark-type Wicked Pokemon Shiftry.
Reddit user Just-Drawing-Mons, who in the past has created their own originalPokemondesigns in addition to theaforementioned Shiftry Mega Evolution, recently posted a fanmade Mega form for Minior on r/pokemon. While the standard Minior contains one of seven different colored cores, this Mega Evolution has a star-like body with each of its five points representing one of these colors. This has caught the eye of quite a few other Reddit users in the post’s comments section, with some of them even comparing Mega Minior’s top orange point to a piece of candy corn.

Others are happy to see artwork of Minior, as it hasn’t been featured in mainlinePokemongames very often. In fact, Minior had skippedGeneration 8’s main entries on the Nintendo Switchentirely, only appearing inSun and Moon, their enhanced follow-upsUltra Sun and Ultra Moon, and thePokemon Scarlet and Violet:The Hidden Treasure of Area ZeroDLC. Minior is also available to capture in spin-off titlesNew Pokemon SnapandPokemon Shuffle.
ManyPokemonfans have made impressive Minior-inspired works, such as miniature models, colorful lamps, andeven Minior-shaped hot chocolate bombsthat reveal a colored Core Form underneath its outer shell - mirroring the trait that helps the Rock/Flying hybrid stand out among its fellow Pokemon. With the upcomingPokemon Legends Z-Abringing back Mega Evolutions, the often under-utilized Minior could get a new variant like the one Just-Drawing-Mons devised in their latestPokemonart project.
