Summary
One dedicatedPokemonfan is showing off their complete collection of games dating back to the Western release ofPokemon Red and Blueon the original Game Boy. ThePokemoncollector has amassed quite a library of titles, and it’s certainly a nostalgic site to behold. It’s quite impressive considering that The Pokemon Company and Game Freak have been producing RPGs on a near-annual basis since the franchise’s debut back in 1996.
The mainline series has so far seen nine different generations in various regions that have spanned over six consoles. Not including spin-off titles, there have been 37PokemonRPGs released in the West in the past 27 years. This total counts remakes likeSoulSilver,HeartGold, and the various reimaginings on the Nintendo Switch such as theLet’s Goseries. With game collecting becoming an increasingly popular title in recent years, prices on nostalgic games likePokemonhave skyrocketed, but one savvy fan has managed to track them all down.

Reddit user PioneerRaptor has managed to collect every mainlinePokemonRPG and is sharing a look at their impressive library with the community of fans. The collector and fan has hard copies of every core RPG sincePokemon Red and Blue, and even the cardboard boxes that hold some of the older titles look to be in pretty good shape. Most of the games were picked up as retail purchases, but the collector only started this practice of keeping their copies since the release ofPokemon Platinum.
Not included in the picture are all the official guides, Pokedex books, and consoles that the fan has also collected over the years. Also missing is the impressive collection of consoles required to play these games. In another picture, the gamer is also showing off their DS consoles, Game Boy Advance handhelds, and even a couple of Analogue Pockets. With theAnalogue Pocket’s solid reviewsand ability to play Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance cartridges, it certainly makes a lot of sense for a game collection that exists across so many different handhelds.
Not only is this collection impressive, but it’s also quite valuable. For example,Pokemon Emeraldis amongthe most expensive GBA gamesout there, as it sells for hundreds of dollars when included with its box and various inserts. This isn’t atypical either, as mostPokemongames tend to maintain their value and even increase in price over time.
It’s not justPokemongames that are expensive, either. The nostalgicPokemon TCG Classicset is already selling for ridiculous pricesonline over a month before it officially hits store shelves.
