Pokemon GOwas released over five years ago. As an augmented reality game, players had the opportunity to interact with Pokemon like never before. While the mobile game might not be at the same level of popularity it once was, many players still log in to catch Pokemon daily. Recently, the developers at Niantic announced an exciting update for the title.
In a post on thePokemon GOwebsite, Niantic unveiled a bunch of new content coming in the next month. Called Halloween Mischief, this new update focuses on addingspooky new Pokemon and Evolutionsto the game. According to the developer, the event contains two parts: Creepy Companions and Ghoulish Pals.

Part 1 of this Halloween Mischief event, Creepy Companions, centers onPsychic-type and Poison-type Pokemonand runs from October 15 until October 22. One of the highlights of the first week of this event is the addition of a new Evolution. Once the event begins, players will be able to evolve Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowking. To evolve this Pokemon, players must set the Galarian Slowpoke as a buddy and catch 30 Psychic-type Pokemon. While the Halloween Mischief event only lasts two weeks, the Galarian Slowpoke Evolution will remain in the game after the event.
Following the end of part 1 of the Halloween Mischief event, the developers keep the new content coming as part 2, Ghoulish Pals, adds never-before-seen Pokemon to the wild. Running from October 22 until October 31, this second half of the event increases the odds ofencountering Ghost-type Pokemon. In addition, the developers are adding Pumpkaboo and Phantump to the mobile game. Beyond these new Pokemon, Evolutions for both new Pokemon are available as well. Pumpkaboo can be evolved into Gourgeist, while Phantump can transform into Trevenant. Furthermore, the game features four different sizes of Pumpkaboo.
These are only a few highlights of the massive update coming toPokemon GO. In addition to these new Pokemon and Evolutions, players can participate in other Halloween-themed events, such as the Halloween Cup and a Special Raid Weekend. There are also Special Research stories that pertain to the Mythical Pokemon Hoopa. Furthermore, the in-game shop will offer several spooky items for avatars, while new costumed forms of Pokemon along with a spooky theme for Lavender Town are coming to the game. The entire Halloween Mischief event runs from October 15 until October 31.
Besides this upcoming event forPokemon GO, other games have Halloween-themed events planned for the remainder of the month. TheMonsters Within event forApex Legendsstarts today, bringing new cosmetics and the Shadow Royale mode. In addition,Call of Duty: Warzoneis hosting The Haunting, a Halloween event expected to add a spooky look to Verdansk and offer new skins such as Ghostface from theScreamfranchise.
