Considering that they’re able to catch any Pokemon without fail, it’s reasonable for the game to keep them extremely limited. As a result, when most players get a Master Ball, they hold onto it until they encounter a really rare or difficult-to-catch Pokemon. However, this player’s plans were shot when their Master Ball got spent against their will.
Pokemon GOplayer Thenoise95 shared their misfortune with the community on Reddit. A screenshot reveals the Psyduck they lost their Master Ball to, which was caught in Virginia on July 25. There’s nothing that really stands out about thePsyduck, so some fans might wonder why they would use their Master Ball to catch it. But as it turns out, it was the player’s child that did this. Their daughter somehow got ahold of the phone and the game, and used every single one of their Poke Balls, including the Master Ball.
Pokemon GO Players Share Sympathies and Warnings
While fellow fans in the comments are sympathetic to the loss of the Master Ball, many tried to turn it into a teaching moment. Several fans said that anyone who hands over their phone to a kid should expect something like this to happen, and that children shouldn’t be playing the game unsupervised. Others said that it makes more sense to sign their child up for an account of their own, rather than letting them ruin the parent’s account. It’s certainly not the first time something bad has come fromchildren playingPokemon GOon a parent’s phone, and undoubtedly not the last.
While it’s certainly upsetting to lose a Master Ball inPokemon GO,there are worse things that could have happened. The player could have had some of theirPokemon transferred for candy, or their child could have wracked up multiple purchases made using real money. Although Master Balls are incredibly rare, eventually,Pokemon GOwill give players another opportunity to add one to their inventory. Once that happens, this player would do well to not let their kid anywhere near their phone to avoid history repeating itself.
