Pokemon GOhas begun hinting at the appearance of the cotton-candy horse Pokemon, Galarian Ponyta, via its official Twitter account. As shown across several posts, Professor Willow has apparently spotted a mysterious Pokemon that he can’t seem to capture a distinct picture of.

Ponyta and Rapidash have both been inPokemon GOsince the game’s release, with their Shiny forms also making it into the game later. Now thatPokemon SwordandShieldhave been out for some time, it seems that Niantic is finally ready to commit to more Galarian form introductions.

Until now,Pokemon GOTrainers have had several small windows of opportunities tosnag a couple of Galarian Pokedex entries. Namely, Galarian Stunfisk, Zigzagoon, and Meowth. The game just barely finished introducing Alolan Form Pokemon, so it’s no surprise that Galar natives have just begun to appear. Nonetheless, Trainers can soon continue to expand their teams and collections.

Galarian Ponyta’s main feature was a stark type change from Fire to Psychic, which added the dragon-slaying Fairy-type upon evolution. Aside from being apopular shiny to track down inSwordandShield, Galarian Ponyta and Rapidash have been fan-favorites since their release. Not to mention, they marked the debut of an entirely new Pokemon ability: Pastel Veil.

These tweets from Niantic are particularly fun because they serve as a subtle nod to Galarian Ponyta’s original unveiling. When the Pokemon was first announced, fans were treated to a cryptic day-long “livestream” of Galar’s ethereal Glimwood Tangle. Upon watching for some time, viewers of the stream were treated to fleeting glimpses of Galarian Ponyta, one of the morewell-received Kanto Pokemon redesigns. At first, fans speculated it could be a new Legendary Pokemon, but alas that theory was quickly debunked.

Now that Galarian Ponyta and Rapidash are officially announced, dataminers have been able to find assets and stats inPokemon GO’s Game Master files. Galarian Ponyta will supposedly have access to Low Kick and Psycho Cut as Fast Moves; and Play Rough, Psybeam, and Swift as Charge Moves. Galarian Rapidash will share the same two Fast Moves, but learns Psychic, Body Slam, Megahorn, and Ponyta’s Play Rough as potential Charge Moves.

Players should also take advantage ofupcomingPokemon GOHalloween eventsto stock up on candy, as Galarian Ponyta currently requires 50 Ponyta Candies to evolve according to datamined information. However, this is subject to change as its official release unfolds.

Pokemon GOis available now on the App Store and Google Play.
