A new and ambitiousPokemon Legends: Arceusmod brings all the regions of the games into one open-world space.Pokemon Legends: Arceusis the interesting spin-off set in the Sinnoh region that take players back in time to explore some ofPokemon’shistory and find out key details such as how the creatures get in a Pokeball in the first place. Giving fans a uniquePokemonexperience compared to the mainline games,Legends: Arceuswas a big success financially, topping Switch sales charts in the weeks and months following release.
WhilePokemon Legends: Arceusoffered a ton of new features for fans of the franchise, including a spin on the way the Pokedex works, additionalHisuian regional forms of Pokemon, and different mounts to access more areas of the map, for some players there still felt as if there was something missing. Some felt as thoughPokemon Legends: Arceus’lack of an open world was a tad disappointing and despite there being several distinct areas to explore, the fact they were each separated by a loading screen took away somewhat from the openness of the game’s setting.

One ambitious modder is looking to changePokemon Legends: Arceus' map, giving players a true open-world experience by allowing them to explore not only the entire Hisui region, but each additional region from thePokemongames as well. The modder, known as Shadowjhakx982 over on the Nexus, has just released the alpha version of their Pokemon Unlimited mod, which will also include areas from titles not included in the mainline games such as Orre and the Orange Islands.
As well as including lots of new spaces to explore, Pokemon Unlimited also seeks to include all the Pokemon from every generation, including Mega Evolutions, Dynamax Pokemon, and even theTerastalize Pokemon fromScarletandViolet. With all this content to pack in, it seems Shadowjhakx982 has a lot of work on their hands. For anyone wanting to try out thisPokemon Legends: Arceusmod, they’ll need a Switch emulator on their PC.
Switch emulators on the PC remain popular by many online, but Nintendo isn’t the biggest fan of them, as it prefers people not to mod its games and for them to be played on its own platforms. BeyondPokemongames, another interesting mod recently released forThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildwhich finally brought co-op multiplayerto the game.
