Pokemon Scarlet & Violetis giving players a chance to catch Unrivaled Mighty Venusaur as part of its latestTera Raid event, and players are quite curious to learn more about the event. While this Pokemon can be only caught once during the event, it can still be a bit tricky to catch it.

Considering this is a special TeraPokemon Scarlet & VioletRaid, players will have a much easier time finding them considering that they have a distinct appearance on the map itself. While they sport the regular black crystals as the regular 6-star Tera Raids, their map icon glows to make it easier for players to identify them. If players can’t see them on the map, then it most likely means that they don’t meet the requirements to take part in it. Alternatively, players can head to the Poke Portal and take part in Tera Raid battles from there as well.

How To Start Mighty Venusaur 7-Star Tera Raid

The Mighty Venusaur 7-Star Tera Raid runs between February 28th and March 5th inPokemon Scarlet & Violet. To unlock 7-star Tera Raids, players need to get access to 6-star Raids first. For that, players need to complete all three paths in the main story, as well as the Academy Ace Tournament. This will unlock 5-star Tera Raids, and after players have completed 10 5-star Tera Raids, then Professor Jacq will call them to unlock 6-star Tera Raids. This can take a bit of time since there is no way to find 5-star Tera Raids specifically, and players will need to simply explore the world as much as they can.

Best Counters For Unrivaled Venusaur 7-Star Tera Raid

For the Tera-Raid event Mighty Venusaur will be featuring its default Grass/Poison type, but what can be a bit tricky to deal with is its Tera type, which will be Ground. There are a few misconceptions as to how Tera-type works, so it is crucial to have that down. When the Tera-type is different from the base type, it will simply add another type to the same type attack bonus (STAB). This means that a Ground Tera-type Venusaur will get STAB for Grass/Poison/Ground. When it comes to the Pokemon’s weakness, the Pokemon becomes a single-type defensively. So Venusaur will only be weak to moves that are strong against Ground types.

Basically, Mighty Venusaur will be weak against Grass, Water, andIce-type Pokemon. However, that doesn’t really mean players should focus only on these types, as it can backfire too. For instance, a Water-type is not a good choice for this battle since Venusaur’s STAB for Grass will absolutely wreak havoc. However, there are a few good options players can rely on.

Alan’s Chesnaught in the Pokemon World Tournament.

As per the current meta, the go-to strategy to defeat Venusaur seems to be using a Chesnaught with Grass-Tera type. Chesnaught is not weak to any of Venusaur’s STAB attacks, and it can deal massive damage itself considering that it gets the same Tera-type boost. Seed Bomb along with Belly Drum/Swords Dance can prove to be quite lethal for this encounter. If players want to use Belly Drum, then having a Shell Bell can be very helpful. Additionally, it’s crucial to take note of Venusaur’s Hidden Ability, Chlorophyll, which can boost its Speed when Sunny Day is used. Other really good options to counter Venusaur include Corviknight, Hisuian Goodra, Walking Wake, Terapagos, Appletun, and Frosmoth.

Can You Get Shiny Mighty Venusaur?

No, Venusaur is shiny-locked for this event, so there is no way to get a shiny variant of this Pokemon. ConsideringBulbasaur is available in the wild in theIndigo Disk DLC, players can try to get a shiny variant from the Blueberry Academy Terrarium region instead.
