Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’sPaldea region is teeming with Grass-types. They can be found in a lot of areas, but some areas are better than others. Grass-types are super effective against Water, Ground, and Rock, so acquiring one or two is great for a Pokemon trainer’s roster. Make sure to avoid Fire, Ice, Bug, Dragon, and Flying-types, as Grass-type Pokemon are weak against those.
There are 43 grass types inPokemon Scarlet & Violet, so catching them is a good way for players to fill up their Pokedex. Explore the regions below to find some of the best Grass-types!
8East Province Area One
The East Province Area One holds a small selection of interesting and fairly low-level Grass-type Pokemon. Within this section of the east province, players can find Skiploom, Applin, Skiddo, Fomantis, and Lurantis. On the far right of the province, there is also a chance to catch a wild Floette whichis a Fairy-type, but it is a tera Pokemon that can be altered to become a Grass-type.

Terastallization can change a Pokemon’s weaknesses by changing its tera type to something else. For example, changing a Water-type to a Fire-type means that it will resist Grass-types instead of being weak to their attacks.
7South Province Area One
South Province Area One is filled with lush green grass, a perfect biome for catching Grass-types. In this province, players can find Hoppip, Sunkern, Deerling, Sawsbuck, and Wo-Chien. Wo-Chien is a little different, however. The new legendary Pokemonwill not be standing in the long grass waiting to be captured. Instead, Wo-Chien is securely locked away behind a purple shrine in the southern province. Players will need to find 8 stakes in the eastern location in the southern province area.
To unlock the shrine, players must explore all over the southern province andpull eight purple stakes from the ground. Wo-Chien is level 60 and a powerful foe, so players will need to ensure they are at a high enough level before taking on this task.
6Tagtree Thicket
As its name suggests, the Tagtree Thicket is a small yet busy area of Paldea. Covered in grass and trees, there are plenty of Grass-types hiding within the area. Players can find Sunflora, Dolliv, Arboliva, Applin, Foongus, Gogoat, Fomantis, Scovillain, and Lurantis within this area.

Scovillain is a fan favorite due to its duality of types. This double-headed pepper plant is uniquely Grass/Fire-type, which gives it an interesting combination of moves and means that it is not weak to Fire-types. Scovillain is weak to Poison-type, Rock-type, and Flying-type attacks.
5West Province Area Three
Situated in the northwest of Paldea, west province area three is north of Asado desert and players will encounter this province a little later in the game through quest lines. While exploring west province area three, players should have a team of Pokemon with levels ranging from the late 20s to early 30s. There is a myriad of grass-type Pokemon available in this area. Players will be able to find Jumpluff, Arboliva, Petilil, Lilligant, Shroomish, Breloom, Applin, Leafeon, Foongus, Skiddo, Gogoat, and Tropius.
This area connects a lot of important areas together, but don’t bypass it, spend some time exploring and catch those grass-types.
4East Province Area Two
It is no surprise to see east province area two and east province area one both feature on this list as they are only separated by a river that flows directly into the east Paldean Sea. Area two is found near the old port town of Levincia which is now a business hub and contains the electric-type gym leader, Iono.
