There are a number of things that players can expect to run like clockwork within the gaming industry, from the weekly resets of service titles to announcements of the free perks coming with online subscriptions. However, a delay in news onPS Plus, specifically with thefree PS4 and PS5 titles for March, has some players wondering what is taking so long to roll out the update.
Considering that these announcements generally arrive on in the final week of any given month, many players have expected to already see what free gamesPS Plusis planning for its next wave of titles. As a result, fans have quickly begun gathering across Twitter, Reddit, and other forums for this type of discussion to share memes and “leaks” in anticipation for what might be arriving in March.

The guesses for what is to come range from2019’sFinal Fantasy 7 Remaketo more launch titles similar to February’s release ofDestruction Allstarsthat premiered the game for free on PS5 for PS Plus members. However, for the time being, much of this is speculation, even if there are a few fairly convincing mock-ups spreading across the internet from fans either making educated guesses or throwing out complete wild cards. One of these “leaks” that has caught up a bit of steam includes the PS5 launch titleGodfallappearing at the same time as a PS4/PS5 dual release forKena: Bridge of Spirits.
Other fans are assuming that this delay is caused simply by the upcomingState of Play on February 25, which may be where Sony intends to make the official announcement for PS Plus. This could mean a few things, such as the state of the free games across the subscription service changing, or the possibility of a title receiving a surprise launch in the beginning of March. There are a couple of titles, the suspectedKenaamong them, that have a foggy Q1 release date that could fit with another PS Plus launch meant to push both the subscription service and the PS5.
Most players have quickly come to the conclusion that the lack of an announcement must mean that there are big plans for the upcoming State of Play. However, “big plans” can mean quite a few things, so while this could mean thatPS Plus members will get more launch titles, that isn’t exactly set in stone for the moment. The full announcement will most likely be coming on February 25th, but it could have been more to keep Sony’s releases consolidated than to prepare players for a huge release.
