There’s no shortage of details and small Easter eggs laid throughout the expansive world ofRed Dead Redemption 2. Some have revolved around comparisons between Van der Linde Gang members Arthur Morgan and John Marston, with the two having tons of differences. One fan following the trend took it upon themselves to compare an uncanny feature of the twoRed Dead Redemptionprotagonists.

Arthur and John are shown to be vastly different outlaws over the course ofRed Dead Redemption 2. EvenArthur’s aim is better than John’s, showing that the former has more experience than the latter. Still, many fans have long been accustomed to John Marston from the first game in the series,Red Dead Redemption. The light rivalry among the fanbase has led to tons of similar meme-like comparisons of the two, although the most recent one really makes one wonder if it was truly necessary.

Redditor Desyeeforlife last pointed out the disparity in the two outlaws' aim, but their most recent comparison focused on one gnarly feature: teeth. In a post to r/reddeadredemption, the Redditor posted two close-ups of Arthur and John’s teeth, facial hair and all. All jokes aside, it’s anyone’s guess as to which character takes home the crown for best dental hygiene.

Technically, it does appear that John has a slight edge over Arthur, as the former’s teeth appear to be straighter. If the win does go to John, it’s just one of few ways that John is better than Arthur inRed Dead Redemption 2. Even more, despite all of Arthur’s experience, the edge that John has gives him another angle totease his fellow gang memberfrom. Going off of past experiences, John likely wouldn’t hesitate to highlight the cosmetic flaw.

Then again, something aboutArthur’s experience in generalmay play a part in why the seasoned outlaw has a crooked jawline. Arthur was considered one of the heavy hitters in the Van der Linde Gang and even functioned as the gang enforcer. He’s no doubt been in enough fights to permanently shape the inside of his mouth.

There’s no telling if Rockstar gave the two different teeth for any specific reason, though it has already left tons of Easter eggs of the same manner. It wouldn’t be too strange for the company to leave behind one concerning dental hygiene given the time period, though it’s certainly a detail not many would immediately look out for.

Red Dead Redemption 2is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
