The Rockstar Games' careers page currently has an opening for a Character Assembly Artist at its Toronto studio, which has seemingly hinted towards the setting ofGTA 6. The job requires the candidate to be well-versed in “era-specific culture and demographics,” with an understanding of fashion and street-style as well. The job also requires the candidate to populate the open world, which seemingly means creating NPCs and styling them according to the game’s setting. There is no official confirmation aboutflashbacks or time jumps forGrand Theft Auto 6, but this job listing possibly confirms that at least part of the game won’t be set in the modern era.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick recently stated that the company will witness a “significant inflection point in fiscal 2025,” which could mean that the game could launch somewhere between 2024-25. A leaker had also recently claimed thatGTA 6could launch during holiday 2024, which now seems like a possibility after Zelnick’s statement. So fans may get their answers aboutGTA 6’s setting sooner rather than later.
