For those that might not quite understand “during or after 2Q fiscal year ending 2021,” it’s different on a company by company basis, but since Sega’s fiscal year ends on March 31st, this means anytime between March 31 and July 1. Considering thatShin Megami Tensei 5is meant to release in 2021, that means that the release window has been shrunk to Sega’s 4Q, or between January 1st and March 31st. Comparing the releases ofPersonatoShin Megami Tenseiin the report helps to confirm this as well, withPersona 4 Goldenreleasing in June as part of what the report defines as 1Q.

In addition to revealing a slimmer release window forShin Megami Tensei 5, this report also outlines when players can expect to see Sega’sdelayed strategy titleHumankind. With both games expected to come out in 2021 and before the end of the current fiscal year, then that should mean that both will be out between January and March. However, it is still up in the air as to which of these games will be launching first, especially considering the way that game development has been disrupted thanks to COVID-19, as has actually been addressed in these fiscal reports.

Thanks to how incrediblypopular Atlus’Shin Megamiseriesis, even compared to related titles likePersona, it’s likely that Sega intends to end the fiscal year with a strong showing to jump into the new year with. However, for anyone with the patience to sift through the business lingo of the report, there are a few more interesting revelations, such as the intended release of a newInitial Damusement machine. Additionally, if sales records continue as they have for the rest of the fiscal year, it’s likely that the upcoming releases will be fairly great for both Atlus and Sega.
