ManySkyrimfans will also fondly remember their heady days of watchingTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtleson weekends, and a recent mod makes it possible for the classic cartoon heroes to become followers in the Bethesda RPG. WithThe Elder Scrolls 6still in developmentand no way of knowing when it will actually come out, the gaming world is seemingly getting the most out of the fifth entry in the fantasy series, even if some are growing impatient for the next game.
Over the course of 11 years, modders have offered new ways of playingSkyrim, increasing the shelf life of the aging game. Whether it’s graphical upgrades to keepTES5looking modern, adding in new NPCs and quests, fixing bugs, or just having fun with the original format, there’s something for everyone out there. Occasionally, someone will come along and decide to mix up franchises as well.

That’s what Nexus Mods user SOYSAUCINIT has done, at least. Thanks to a recent upload from them,Skyrimfans can now go adventuring across the titular province with the aforementionedTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtlesin tow. The mod, which is simply called “TMNT Followers,” gives players a chance to mix their love of high-fantasy gaming with iconic cartoon characters. All four of the turtles are available as followers and the description says that, once installed, these half-shelled heroes can be found outside Riften Fishery.
For the somewhat older fan, there will be nostalgic memories of watching what is considered by many to be one of thebest Saturday morning cartoons of its eraand these green, pizza-loving fighters of evil. TheTeenage Mutant NinjaTurtlesTV show became a phenomenal success when it aired in the 1980s, eventually leading to movie adaptations and merchandise. It even entered the world of gaming with the notoriously punishing game released for the NES back in 1989 and other titles. Given its history, there will be quite a fewSkyrimplayers out there who would love to have Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael as followers.
WhileSkyrimis a pretty immersive open-world gameas it is, the modding community has been dead set on improving the overall experience. There’s no telling what people will come up with next for theElder Scrollstitle, but if there are more ways for fans to incorporate role-playing elements with beloved Saturday morning cartoons, then the continued success of the 11-year-old game is in safe hands. That is, untilTES6finally releases.
