The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Anniversary Editioncelebrates the 10th birthday of Bethesda’s legendary RPG. The latest edition ofSkyrimnot only includes all the features of the previous Special Edition, but also contains a huge amount of community-created content from the Creation Club.

One of the moreinteresting Creation Club Packs that’s included inSkyrim Anniversary Editionis Bone Wolf, which adds new enemies, a quest themed around them, and a new pet for players to tame. The Bone Wolf itself is an undead wolf that gives powerful bonuses to the player, but can only be gained through a quest chain.

How to Start the Bone Wolf Quest in Skyrim

The quest to obtain a Bone Wolfpet inSkyrimis called Let Sleeping Wolves Lie, and won’t start until players have completed the chain that begins with The Man Who Cried Wolf, which can be acquired from Falk Firebeard in Solitude. Some time after players have completed The Wolf Queen Awakened, the final quest in that chain, they’ll receive a brief letter from Bolgeir Bearclaw, housecarl of Solitude.

Bolgeir’s letter will begin Let Sleeping Wolves Lie, and will ask players to hunt down a necromancer on the northern coast. The necromancer can be found a little way to the northwest of Folgunthur, one ofSkyrim’s Nordic Ruins. The necromancer’s camp is under a rocky outcrop and is guarded by two hostile thrall wolves, as well as the necromancer himself.

How to Tame the Bone Wolf in Skyrim

Once players havedefeated the necromancer inSkyrim’s Let Sleeping Wolves Lie quest, they should loot the journal, key, and Totem Bone from his body. The journal will reveal that the necromancer was in the process of binding a new wolf, but hadn’t yet completed the ritual. The Bone Wolf itself can be found in the cage nearby, which is unlocked with the key.

Unlike the other Bone Wolf’senemies inSkyrim Anniversary Edition, this Bone Wolf isn’t hostile. All players need to do to gain it as a pet and finish the quest is unlock the cage and interact with it. As a pet, the Bone Wolf won’t fight alongside the player, though it can carry items. However, players who are accompanied by the Bone Wolf will gain the Bone Wolf’s Revenge Perk, which increases damage against undead and necromancers by 25%.
