Based on its trailers, it’s clear thatStar Wars Outlawsis going to follow suit.
There are currently five planets confirmed to appear inStar Wars Outlaws, includingStar Warsstaples like Tatooine, some lesser-known locales like Kijimi and Akiva, and an original planet in Toshara. But there’s one currently confirmedStar Wars Outlawsplanet that doesn’t quite fit into any of those categories, and that’s Cantonica, a planet that fans have seen on screen for quite a lengthy duration but probably don’t feel like they know all that much about.

Cantonica Played a Covert Role in the First Order-Resistance War
Though it first appeared inThe Legends of Luke Skywalkeryoung-readers novel, the planet of Cantonica is likely best known for its on-screenappearance inStar Wars: The Last Jedi, where it acts as the backdrop for the movie’s C-plot. With the Resistance Fleet’s fuel supply running low, and the First Order flagship Supremacy hot on its tail, Finn and Rose are tasked with meeting a Master Codebreaker on the planet of Cantonica, in the casino city of Canto Bight.
Part of theStar Warsgalaxy’s Corporate Sector, Cantonica remained a fairly desolate wasteland for years, with its long stretches of desert acting as the perfect hiding spot for smugglers and other scoundrels wanting to avoid the law. As word about Cantonica’s safe haven spread across the galaxy’s criminal underground, the planet’s population started to increase, and so did its infrastructure. Over the course of a few decades, Cantonica’s criminal dens turned into elaborate bars, casinos, and hotels, eventually culminating in the luxury resort city of Canto Bight.
While Canto Bight became primarily a place for the galaxy’s elite to rub shoulders, it still very much remained a hive of scum and villainy. Among the wealthy tourists, Canto Bight also attracted a number of war profiteers, who all made their fortune selling weapons and ships to both sides ofthe First Order-Resistance War.
What Role Cantonica Might Play in Star Wars Outlaws
Set betweenStar Wars: The Empire Strikes BackandReturn of the Jedi, it seems likely that Cantonica will be in full luxury resort swing by the time Kay Vess travels there inStar Wars Outlaws, and there are a few different roles that Cantonica could play in the game. The most likely role for Cantonica inStar Wars Outlawsis being the meeting place of some wealthy benefactor, perhaps being the initial source of Kay Vess' plan to pull off the galaxy’s greatest heist. Alternatively, Cantonica could actually be the site of said heist, which would make complete sense as Canto Bight is presumably overflowing with cash at all times. Regardless of its role inStar Wars Outlaws, Cantonica is a location with plenty of potential still left untapped, and it’s great to see it return so soon.
