For some time now, the simulation role-playing video gameStardew Valleyhas been available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS Vita, iOS, and Android. The players exist in Stardew Valley where they take over their deceased grandfather’s farm. Every day and all day, they grow crops, raise livestock, craft goods, mine ores, sell products, and develop relationships with the townspeople.

In Stardew Valley, the villagers live in and around Pelican Town. The citizens themselves live their own lives simultaneously while the player lives theirs, having their own interests and daily routines and so on and so forth. One of them is theWizard! He’s an interesting fellow that lives in a tall tower. But there is a lot to uncover about this NPC.
10The Wizard’s Tower
Where does a wizard live? In a tower, of course! The Wizard’s Tower is the home of the Wizard.
This building is located west of Cindersap Forest, opened from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. However, the door is locked until the player unlocks the Community Center and reads the golden scroll placed in the Crafts Room. This is how they learn how to read the Junimo language, which is what the forest spirits speak!
9The Witch’s Hut
At some point, the Wizard will ask the player tofind a Dark Talisman. This item is found in a chest in the Mutant Bug Lair. After placing theDark Talismanon the artifact at the Railroad, the Witch’s Swamp is revealed; access to the Witch’s Hut is given after they give the Henchman someVoid Mayonnaise.
Inside the Witch’s Hut is a red teleportation rune that teleports the player to the Wizard’s Tower. This portal is the only way in after 11 p.m. The Wizard never leaves his home but the front door is only unlocked from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
8The Basement Room
After attaining four hearts with the Wizard, the player is granted access to his basement in the Wizard’s Hower. The Basement Room contains an altar referred to as The Shrine of Illusions. Interacting with it, they can change their name, gender, favorite thing, appearance, and the style of their cat or dog.

There are some Easter eggs in fact with changing the character’s name. If an item spawn code is added, a random chat message from the developer will appear. For example, “ConcernedApe: What kind of a name is that? Seems fishy…,” or, “ConcernedApe is mad that you’re cheating…”
7The Wizard’s Likes
Besides all of the Universal Likes, the Wizard isa big fan of Geode Minerals. This means Tigerseye, Opal, Fire Opal, Alamite, Bixite, Baryte, Aerinite, Calcite, Dolomite, Esperite, Fluorapatite, Geminite, Helvite, Jamborite, Jagoite, Kyanite, Lunarite, Malachite, Meptunite, Lemon Stone, Nekoite, Orpiment, Petrified Slimed, Thunder Egg, Pyrite, Ocean Stone, Ghost Crystal, Jasper, Celestine, Marble, Sandstone, Granite, Basalt, Limestone, Soapstone, Hematite, Mudstone, Obsidian, Slate, Fairy Stone, and Star Shards.
He also likes Quartz.
6The Wizard’s Dislikes
In addition to all of the Universal Dislikes, the Wizard dislikes Eggs and Milk. Also, he does not like Chanterelle, Common Mushrooms, Daffodils, Dandelions, Ginger, Hazelnuts, Holly, Leeks, Magma Caps, Morel, Salmonberry, Slime, Snow Yams, Wild Horseradish, or Winter Roots.
The player finds Chanterelle, Common Mushroom, and Hazelnut through foraging in the fall. And they find Daffodil, Dandelion, Leek, Morel, Wild Horseradish, and Salmonberry through foraging in the spring. Also, the player finds Holly, Snow Yam, and Winter Rootthrough foraging in the winter. Additionally, they find Ginger on Ginger Island and Magma Cap in the Volcano Dungeon; Slime is dropped by Slimes as well.
5The Wizard’s Loves
Aside from all of the Universal Loves, the Wizardloves Purple Mushrooms, Solar Essence, Super Cucumber, and Void Essence.
Purple Mushrooms get foraged in the Mines and Super Cucumbers are fished from the sea. And Solar Essence and Void Essence are both dropped as part of Monster Loot. For the former, Ghosts and Metal Heads are two examples of monsters that drop Solar Essence as loot. For the latter, Shadow Brutes and Spiders are two viable sources.
4The Wizard’s Hates
The Wizard hates just about everything. All of the Universal Hates the people of Stardew Valley share are on his list. This means all Bait, all Fossils, all Monster Loot, and all Trash. Give the Wizard any of this stuff as a gift and see his friendship meter plummet.

That being said, everyone hates Slime except for him…he only dislikes Slime.
3The Wizard’s Daughter
At some point, the player will be talking to the Wizard and he will talk about how he suspects that one of the villagers might be his daughter. He asks them to keep this secret too. Who the daughter is exactly is unknown.
That being said, more information comes out during conversations with Caroline, Pierre, Abigail, and Emily. It is probably not Caroline since her hair is green, and obviously not Pierre since he is a man. So, the Wizard’s daughter is either Abigail or Emily. Abigail is who the other villagers believe because Emily does not have purple hair.
2The Wizard’s Wife
According to the Wizard himself, he was once married…for years! This marriage ended after he “made a mistake that drove her away.” The Wizard does not specify what, but does add whatever he did turned her “green” due to anger and evilness, and that she became a witch.
Going off that, the player can see a witch in Stardew Valley. There is literally the Witch as a character. They have a one percent chance to witness the Witch fly over a chicken coop or slime hutch randomly.
1The Only Friend
The Wizard only has one friend, and his name is Linus. He lives in a tent north of Pelican Town, right by the Mines. Linus considers himself an outcast, in fact.
While he trusts no one and says he has no friends, Linus will concede to the fact that he is friends with the Wizard. During the Halloween Festival, they are seen hanging out. (Linus also is friends with Leo, according to Leo, that is.)
