How to Set Course

At first, it can be difficult to get the hang ofsome controls inStarfield, but as players progress and become more accustomed to the game’s mechanics, it’ll start to feel like second nature in no time.To land on a planet inStarfield, the player’s ship must be orbiting it first. So, if they’re too far away, they must open their Starmap and set course to wherever they’d like to land.

To set course towards a planet inStarfield, players can hover over it on the Starmap, choose theSet Course option, and press and hold the Travel button. Alternatively, they can also set course by selecting the planet, confirming the Travel prompt, and pressing and holding the travel button.

There are several ways to access the Starmap aboard the Frontier. Gamers can do it by opening the Navigation Console, opening the Pause Menu, or selecting Set Course on the cockpit.

How to Land

Once players are orbiting the planet that they’d like to visit, they’ll be able to land on it.to select where they’d like to land, players must open the Starmap, zoom in on the planet, and set the landing target. Once they’re satisfied with their choice, gamers only need to press and hold the Land button.

Although some planets have designated landing sites, players can set their landing target elsewhere and explore other areas. There are tons of resources to collect and unexplored sites to visit in order to completely survey the planet. Once players fully survey a planet, they’ll receive a survey data disk, which they can thensell at high prices.
