Stranger Things 4not only marked the series' most popular season to date but also the introduction of the terrifying villain Vecna, played by Jamie Campbell Bower. Now, Bower has opened up about how he brought the evil Vecna to life.

With the past season’s villains being the Demogorgon and The Mind Flayer, season 4 ofStranger Thingshas allowedthe newest bad guy Vecnainto the universe with open arms. The terrifying villain preys on those who are struggling and vulnerable by entering their minds and ultimately murdering them in a graphic death. In the part one finale of season 4 Vecna is revealed to be One from Hawkins Lab, and he faces off with Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), which leads to Eleven sending Vecna into the Upside Down where One reverts to his form as Vecna, which makes him almost unrecognizable.
After the release of part two of season 4, Bower spoke to Screen Rant abouthis role as the infamousStranger Thingsvillainand even revealed what he does on set while in the over-the-top makeup. “I try not to mess with people too much. After I would have the application put on, I would go back to my trailer, sit there, and just take about half an hour just to reset. I loved talking in the voice," he said. “That was always my favorite thing, talking in the voice. So, at the end of a long day, the things that were coming out of my mouth in the Vecna voice were always very interesting and very funny. But, I really like just skulking around and being grim.”
Vecna’s appearance is the cherry on top of all the horror embedded into the show’s monumental fourth season. Arguably one ofStranger Things' most powerful and terrifying villains, Vecna has managed to make his mark during this season ofthe show. WithStranger Thingsset to return for another season, audiences will most likely get to see the return of Vecna and his terrifying but extravagant look.
