Sucker Punch has risen to glory thanks to the monumental love players have forGhost of Tsushima. After devotion to theInfamousseries for many years,Ghost of TsushimaearnedSucker Punch a place at the Game Developers Choice nominations.

Now Sucker Punch is moving on to a new game, although whether or not it’s a new IP or a sequel to an older title is not yet known. What is known is thatSucker Punchis looking to expand its team to work on the game. Sucker Punch has a new position open to work on the game, and it’s one of the most important.

Sucker Punch is looking for a senior games writer for its next project. The position calls for someone with significant experience, especially with AAA video games. Easily one of the most important parts is the call for what’s required in an ideal candidate. Sucker Punch is looking for someone skilled in creating a character-driven story in an open world game. It’s a specific combination, one that suggests a single-player experience centered in an open world, similar toGhost of TsushimaandInfamous. If it’s a new title, Sucker Punch may not be stepping far out of its comfort zone.

At the moment, players are divided on what they want more of from Sucker Punch. On the one hand,Ghost of Tsushimais a monster hit, and players would undoubtedly be down for anything in even remotely the same vein. At the same time, many players are hoping that theInfamousseries will be given another chance. Plus, while all of this is going on,Sucker Punch is also busy making a multiplayer game. What this new game will come to be is very much up in the air.

If the new game is a return to an established franchise, there’s a good case for a newInfamoustitle. The series went many different places since it’s debut in 2009, but its open world gameplay and morality system became staples of many other titles.

If a completely new IP is in the works, it will likely be years before it sees the light of day. After all, it tooksix years to perfectGhost of Tsushima’s combat, and the effort paid off in quality. Hopefully, Sucker Punch takes as much time  as it needs when crafting its next title.
