As the holidays have finally come to a close, it seems that any new sales on major video game releases will be held off for a little while. Last year’s Black Friday sales and various holiday sales may feel like a distant memory, but now it seems that Target will soon be implementing a sale that will cover a wide range of different games on various different systems.
Following the holidays, things have certainly started to die down in terms of consumer demand on various gaming peripherals. However, retailers likeBest Buyare still offering deals every so often on various video game titles, consoles, and other pieces of related hardware. Now, in just one week, another retail outlet will be offering quite an impressive deal for consumers.

According to Twitter user Wario 64, in just one week’s time,Targetwill be launching a huge 50% off sale on hundreds upon hundreds of different games across different systems. While the sale only applies for the games on the previous console generation, there is still a ton of variety and selection for players to choose from.
While only six of the supposed hundreds of games were shown off, it seems like it’s going to be a pretty great sale. Just the fact that people can getThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimon PS4 for half off its retail price will certainly be appealing to a lot of people in the gaming community. In addition to PS4, there are also plenty of games featured at half price for the Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo fans can now pick upThe World Ends With You, the widely popular JRPG originally released on the Nintendo DS that was recently ported to the Switch, for half off. Given that this sale goes into effect next week, it seems incredibly likely that the full list of games on sale will be revealed around that general timeframe.
While 50% off hundreds of games on the previous console generation is pretty great, the fact that a similar discount isn’t applied to next-gen games is a little surprising. Considering the high demand for next-gen consoles, it would make sense to havePS5 gamesand Xbox Series X/S games on sale as well in some capacity. Then again, the fact that both of these next-gen systems continue to fluctuate in and out of stock probably means that it would be wiser to wait until the demand for the consoles dies down and more games release on it before doing any kind of sale.
