Teamfight Tactics: Dragonlandsis out (and is soon releasing on Xbox Game Pass as well). This is the seventhTFTSet for theLeague of LegendsAuto-Battler.TFTis already the perfect encapsulating of decision-making overload (comparable to League’s fast-paced combat), and this Set gives player even more decisions to make in a single game. There are Traits that summon monsters, put exploding statues on the field, and even ones that provide unique items for just that Trait.

While the more “out there” Traits are Origins and not Classes, there are still quite a few new Classes this time around. For both veterans and newcomers, here’s an overview of all the Classes, old and new, inTeamfight Tactics, and everything players need about how they work.

Assassin: Still Just As Strong

Assassins are the same as they’ve always been in anyTFTSet. As they typically do in video games (or movies for that matter), Assassins sneak around and take people out from behind. Theygain bonus Crit Chance and Crit Damage, innately jump to the opposite tile on the enemies side of where they’re placed, and tend to really annoy people with an exposed carry, especially with Units like Pyke in the game this time around.

Bard: Bard’s A Bard, Obviously

Bard is the unique trait tied to the 5-cost unit: Bard. It’s an all-around useful ability that increases the odds of seeing 3, 4, and 5-cost units based on how many “Doots” are created. When this Class Trait is active, surviving Allies at the end of combat have a 20% chance to create a Doot. A Doot is also created whenever Bard’s ult is cast, and if Bard survives to the end of combat, he’ll always dance, which also creates a Doot.

Each Dootrandomly increases the odds of seeing 3, 4, or 5 cost champs in the shop by 1%, and players cannot pick which of these is increased. Bard is a fantastic unit all-around, and his Class of the same name is incredibly useful as well.

Bruiser: The Same Old Chonkers

Bruiser is another returning Class from the last Set, as well as a few before it. When active, the entire team gets bonus Max HP based on the level of the Bruiser Classand Bruisers get double this effect. It’s a great way to gain some extra tankiness, and is an an easy pickup for any team that’s missing a reliable frontline.

Cannoneer: Explosive Auto-Attacks

People forget that Cannoneers existed previously in Set 5.5, but the Class now has 3 and 5 level modifiers this time around They work pretty much how their description says:every 5th attack from a Canoneer with the Class active explodes when hitting the target, dealing physical damage around them that can damage their allies. The explosion’s damage scales based on the level of the Class.

Cavalier: Tanky Challengers

Cavaliers have been inTFTbefore. Players who only remember the most recent Set likely just think of them as tanky Challengers, who getbonus Armor and Magic Resistinstead of Attack Speed.

Last time they were in the game in Set 5, they gained Damage Reduction, which was hard to counter-build. This time they’re a bit easier to play against with Shred items.

Dragon: Where The “Dragon” In Dragonlands Comes From

This new Class is one of the main new systems of the Dragonlands set (and is central to bunch of new characters too). Dragonsprovide a +3 to their Marked Origin Traitwhen placed on the field. It’s always the Origin and never the Class, meaning Shyvana always gives +3 to Ragewing and never +3 to Shapeshifter. They also get+600 Bonus Health.

Players can put multiple Dragons on the field, but doing so does remove the four potential Origin bonuses from either Dragon (-2 from each Dragon’s Marked Origin). With that in mind, it’s not usually worth it unless certain Augments like Dragon Alliance come up.

Dragonmancer: One Gigantic Unit

Dragonmancers are incredibly interesting, because this is the first time Riot has had a Trait centered entirely around buffing one Champion that could go this high in terms of Class level. Similar traits included Imperials in Set 6, Coven in Set 5, and even Dragonsoul in Set 4.5, but they didn’t work quite the same way.

When the Class is active, players get an item “Dragonmancer Blessing” that they put onto any of their Dragonmancers they would with an item. It doesn’t take up a slot and the Blessing pops right back off onto the bench, but that Champ essentiallybecomes the Shonen heroof the team. Theygrow in size and get bonus Health and percentage APbased on the Dragonmancer Trait level. On top of that, these two bonuses are increased by 5% for each Star Level of all the other Dragonmancer Champs in play. This offers the potential of up to an additional 210% if somehow a player has nine Dragonmancers, all at 3-Stars.

Evoker: The “Scholars” Of The Set

Evokers are basically the Scholars from Set 6, but instead of gaining Mana over time,Evokers gain mana whenever an ally or enemy casts an Ability. This means that Evokers are very strong on teams with Champs that have low Mana or against them.

Guardian: Shields On Shields

Guardian is very difficult to run as the “primary” Trait, but it is very useful and works completely differently from the Class of the same name from Set 1.At half health, Guardians automatically create a Shield on themselves and the lowest Health champion at that moment,in exchange for a percentage of their Max Health based on the level of the Trait.

These Shields can stack if multiple Guardians cast around the same time, and they only cast once per combat. However, this usually just means that enemy players see a bunch of Guardian Units with all white HP Bars and settle in for a long combat round.

Legend: Unit Cannabalism

Legend can be a real brain melter the first time someone tries to run it. Usually, players will accidentally eat their own units a lot (especially on mobile), or try and have all three Legends eat someone all at once. When active,Legend units will automatically “eat” or “consume” any non-Legend Champs placed adjacent to them at the start of combat. When eaten, the Legend then gets all the Heatlh, Armor, MR, and 40 percent of the AP of the Champ they ate. Once combat is over, the consumed Champ comes back, and it restarts again next combat, which makes it different from how Glutton worked with Tahm Kench in Set 6.
