TheAshmakeris a unique version of the minigun, and shares the same model inFallout 4. It made the best heavy weapons list, but has been awarded the lowest rating simply because it is a bullet eater. Keeping this weapon in play will meancrafting a significant amount of ammo.
Ashmaker is rewarded to the player after they have completed The Big Dog quest. Quest conversation choices won’t impact whether the player receives Ashmaker or not, as long as they fulfill the quest requirements.
Great For Burning Groups Of Enemies
Every heavy weapon user inFallout 4needs to carry a flamethrower. No other weapon can wreak havoc on a group of enemies like a flamethrower does, andSergeant Ashis as good as a flamethrower gets in this game. The only reason it is so low on this list is the fact that it is a very situational weapon.
Getting hold of Sergeant Ash is pretty simple. The player just needs to head to Acadia and locate Dejen, who will have Sergeant Ash for sale. The fact it is so easy to acquire makes it a must-have for all heavy weapon users. Plus, the 20% chance to cripple the leg of a target is a nice bonus, too.
Useful For The Freeze Debuff
The best thing about using theCryolateras a heavy weapon user inFallout 4is the fact that it has a chance to freeze enemies. Granted, this is a pretty low chance, but it is very handy when it does trigger. The damage output is pretty decent as well, even when the freeze debuff doesn’t fire.
The Cryolator is quite easy to acquire, as it is looted from Vault 111. As long as the player can pick master-level locks, they can head to the Overseer’s office in this vault, and then pick the lock on the display case and loot the weapon.
Turns Junk Into Ammo
At first glance, theJunk Jetheavy weapon inFallout 4seems to be a comedy easter egg, but that is far from the truth. While this weapon uses randomjunk and scrapfrom the player’s inventory as ammo, it is still a very effective firearm.
There are two ways for a player to get their hands on the Junk Jet heavy weapon. Firstly, they can loot it from ArcJet Systems, in the rocket control room. This room is only accessible after starting the Call to Arms quest. Secondly, it can be looted from Manta Man after killing him in the Return of the Manta Manencounter.
Massive Single Target damage

The downside of Death From Above is that it isfairly rare, and not the easiest heavy weapon to acquire inFallout 4. The player will need to reach the rank of Paladin, and then they can purchase Death From Above from Proctor Teagan, who can be found aboard The Prydwen.
Huge Explosions With High Damage
As one might expect from what is, in effect, a handheld tactical nuke launcher, this heavy weapon does massive amounts of damage. Far more than any other heavy weapon inFallout 4, theNuka-Nuke Launcheris one of themost powerful weaponsin the game. However, with its very slow rate of fire, shot placement is going to be very important. The ammo is pretty rare, so this won’t be an everyday kind of weapon, rather only used in certain situations.
The Nuka-Nuke launcher is acquired at the end of the Cappy in a Haystack quest, and is located below John-Caleb Bradberton’s office, in a smallvault. Players will also find the schematic for crafting the ammo for this heavy weapon in the same place.
