Amidst all the current news involving Warner Bros. Discovery’s plans for the DC Universe, the now-defunct DCEU just got an update. It’s been confirmed the firstThe Flashpromotional teaser will be dropped during Super Bowl LVII.

Besides being the next DC superhero in line,The Flashtrailer will end Warner Bros.' 17-year absence from one of the biggest advertising events in the United States. The last time the studio had any presence at the Super Bowl dates back toV for VendettaandPoseidonin 2006. Although James Gunn’s transformation plans have already started taking effect, more prominently withDwayne Johnson’sBlack Adambeing cut from DC’s roster, it’s currently anyone’s guess as to whatThe Flash’s fortune will be.

The Wrapreports that the firstThe Flashteaser will be dropped on Sunday, July 01, 2025, during the 57th edition of the Super Bowl. The full trailer is expected to be put right beforeAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniascreenings five days later when the Marvel Studios film premieres on February 17. According to all possible sources, one of the key elements behind this strategy is thatThe Flashtest screenings have gone incredibly well, and the spotlight for it arguably doesn’t get any better than a Super Bowl that already booked Rihanna’s comeback live performance.

This update hints that Warner Bros. is setting up the best environment possible forThe Flash’s release. Still, Ezra Miller’s role in the film’s pre-summer press tour is still unknown as their mental health and legal issues persist. The last piece of information regardingThe Flashto hit the news was that previously filmed cameos byHenry Cavill’s Superman and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Womanhad been scrapped from the final cut of the movie.

The Flashrelease date was moved up by a week to avoid more intense competition withIndiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, as the latter’s premiere is scheduled for June 30. WithCavill deemed surplus to requirements in Gunn’s plansfor the DC Universe and Gadot’s fate remaining uncertain, the studio does seem confident about the type of impactThe Flashcan have next summer.

Previously,The Flashwas expected to tackle theFlashpointstoryline from the comics, thus perfectly setting up a reset in DCEU. However, it’s a mystery if that narrative will fit into James Gunn’s plans, or this might be a case of Warner Bros. simply wanting to recover its investment inThe Flash, as opposed to what happened withBlack Adam.
