While the newer project did manage to topThe Mandalorianin viewership, a lot of that success came from the original show, including the introduction of characters and concepts introduced and made popular by the animated seriesStar Wars: The Clone WarsandRebels.A recent post credited toAaron McBrideon the Concept Art Association website has given fans a closer look atRebelscharacter Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios making his live-action debut. WhileThe Mandalorianbenefited from sequel trilogy connectionsfrom the onset, this cameo was a new dimension to the show’s reach and left a lot of fans wanting to see more.

The shortStar Wars Rebelscameo, which saw the large alien character seated at a bar,had someMandalorianfans asking who Zeb waswhile others were elated. The concept art shared by McBride gives a clearer and more comprehensive view of the vision for the character, which was almost entirely realized in the live-action appearance, with the noticeable exception of a minor tweak to the nose. The full view and close-ups show great detail on the clothing and features, including the eyes and ears.

The significance of Zeb as anon-Force User who made a difference inStar Wars' grand overarching story and a member of the main cast ofRebelscan’t be understated, and his appearance inThe Mandalorianalongside similarly impactful live-action debuts inAhsokahas helped to make the Disney Plus shows far more impactful and important for the franchise than previously thought. Now that so much of the old crew has jumped to live-action, fans are certainly excited by the prospect of a reunion at some point in the future.

While it hasn’t been brought up in an official capacity, this full-on reunion being part of the events presented inThe Mandaloriantheatrical climaxwould be a great payoff for the cameos and would go a long way to reward fans for their interest and support forAhsoka.Whether this happens or not, Zeb and the others who have made live-action debuts have already givenStar Wars Rebelsfans fulfilled dreams.
