The Mandalorianwill return to Disney Plus this week for its season 3 premiere as Din Djarin and Grogu head to Mandalore, however, an officialStar Warssocial media account has accidentally confirmed they’ll be joined by the galaxy’s most famous bounty hunter, Temuera Morrison’s Boba Fett.

News of Morrison’s return toThe Mandalorianwill hardly come as a surprise for fans as his solo spinoff last year,The Book of Boba Fett, ended up acting as a season 2.5 of sorts for Mando, one that’s definitely must-watch content considering the consequences it had for its two protagonists. Nevertheless, despite some early promotional material suggesting Boba Fett would be among the many bounty hunters in the Mandalorian clan featured in season 3, this recent post provides the first official look at him.

In a now-deleted picture shared viaStar Wars’Hong Kong Facebook account (viaThe Direct), Boba Fett’s image was captioned with a message that read “The Original team is back,” also mentioning that #BobaFett would be back as well, along with some of Mando and Grogu’s other allies and new enemies. The photo shows Boba Fett wearing his full armor in an unknown location, so it’s not entirely possible to pin down if this is a screenshot taken fromThe Mandalorianseason 3 or his past appearances on Disney Plus shows.

It’s not as if Boba Fett’s inclusion is entirely surprising by now asThe Mandalorian’sown teasershad shown the duo will be spending some time in Tatooine in season 3, which is firmly under Fett’s control as the planet’s new Daimyo. AsStar Wars’signature bounty hunter, Boba Fett was first teased in season 1 before appearing inThe Mandalorian’ssophomore season that would tie into his own show.

One aspect to keep in mind, and something the show’s creator Jon Favreau is fully aware of, is that not everyMandalorianviewer tuned in to watchThe Book of Boba Fett, meaning season 3 will have to tread carefully to tie the two stories together for that audience. After all,The Mandalorianis still Disney Plus’ undisputed MVP, withThe Book of Boba Fettmaking many mistakesthat caused it to lose viewership, even in spite of Mando stealing the spotlight towards the end of the season.

There’s been some speculation about a potential season 2 forThe Book of Boba Fett, but with Morrison’s appearance now confirmedforThe Mandalorian,Star Warsfansshould find out it that’s a possibility within the coming weeks.

Season 3 ofThe Mandalorianwill premiere on Disney Plus on August 01, 2025.
