The Attraction metric helps determine how strongly Sims are drawn to each other based on their preferences and traits, influencing the success of romantic interactions and chemistry between Sims. Meanwhile, the Romantic Satisfaction metric tracks how well Sims are meeting their romantic goals and desires, providing feedback on their relationship progress and personal fulfillment. Together, these metrics change the dynamic and romantic advancements between Sims, while also unlocking new benefits or interactions.
How to View Attraction and Romantic Satisfaction
To view both Attraction and Romantic Satisfaction inThe Sims 4: Lovestruck, players need to navigate to the Relationship Tab and open the profile of the desired Sim. Upon meeting a new Sim, your Sim will automatically form an opinion on Attraction. However, discovering the other Sim’s level of Attraction requires a specific interaction: under Relationships, select “Learn More” and then “Ask Attraction Level.” If the Sims haven’t interacted much, the request might initially be rejected, but once discovered, players can easily view both Sims' Attraction levels.
Romantic Satisfaction becomes available only after theSims develop a strong romantic relationship. This metric tracks how fulfilled each Sim feels in the relationship, but it only appears once the Romance bar reaches a significant level. Players will receive a notification when Romantic Satisfaction becomes available for viewing. It’s important to note that both Attraction and Romantic Satisfaction metrics operate independently for each Sim. This means one Sim can have high Attraction while the other feels none, or one can be romantically satisfied while the other remains unfulfilled.
How to Improve Attraction?
Sims' attraction is generally based on Sims' Turn-ons and Turn-offs, which have been added in thePreferences tab when creating a Sim, alongside likes and dislikes. In that sense, it is quite similar to Compatibility; however, it is measured with Turn-ons and Turn-offs instead of likes and dislikes. There are six different categories in which players can choose their Sims' Turn-ons and Turn-offs, including Hair Color, Activities, Characteristics, Outfit Color, Fashion, and Romance Style. Based on how many of the Turn-ons and Turn-offs are matching, Sims will experience varying attraction levels.
To improve another Sim’s attraction, a Sim needs tofirst learn that Sim’s Turn-ons and Turn-offs. Sims can do this by asking about Physical Preferences, Personality Preferences, and Romance Preferences, or by getting to know them through other means, such as the"Who’s Up Party Game." that has been added to the build mode.Once these preferences are learned, they are added to the Sim’s profile. To increase attraction, players can align their Sim’s appearance or behavior with the other Sim’s preferences—such as matching hair color, dressing style, or lifestyle—while avoiding any Turn-offs as much as possible.
How to Improve Romantic Satisfaction?
Improving Romantic Satisfaction requires more effort than simply increasing Attraction, as it depends on engaging in specific types of romantic interactions while avoiding actions that could lower satisfaction. Generally, high Romantic Satisfaction is achieved through successful and consistent romantic interactions between Sims. Sims with higher romance skills and traits like Alluring may find it easier to boost Romantic Satisfaction. While Turn-ons and Turn-offs play a significant role in Attraction, the Romance Style preferences are particularly important for Romantic Satisfaction. For example, if a Sim is turned on by certain types of romantic interactions like Affection, Flirting, Gift Giving, Physical Intimacy, or WooHoo, engaging in these activities will improve their Romantic Satisfaction. Conversely, engaging in Turn-offs can decrease satisfaction. The categorization of romance interactions helps players focus on positive actions while avoiding negative ones.
Another critical factor affecting Romantic Satisfaction is respectingthe Sims' romantic boundaries, which are closely linked to Jealousy. Sims need to understand and respect each other’s boundaries to maintain high satisfaction levels. Ignoring these boundaries or engaging in actions that violate them can lead to a decrease in the relationship bar and a significant drop in Romantic Satisfaction. Therefore, it’s essential for players to learn about and adhere to these boundaries to maintain healthy and satisfying relationships between their Sims.
Benefits of Improving Romantic Satisfaction
Improving Romantic Satisfaction is crucial for maintaining and enhancing the romance levels between Sims. The combined Romantic Satisfaction of both Sims influences thestability and longevity of their romantic relationship. If both Sims have a high Romantic Satisfaction, particularly at the “Very Satisfied” level, their romantic relationship will strengthen over time instead of fading.
It’s important for players to actively manage and keep Romantic Satisfaction levels high, as it doesn’t remain static like a skill. Regular positive interactions and attention to each Sim’s preferences and boundaries are necessary to sustain satisfaction.
