Summary
Fans ofThe Sims 4may be excited to learn that the game is changing the way that accessories work in the title’s upcoming base game update. The reveals were made during a livestream with the developers ofThe Sims 4’s upcoming Lovestruck update.
The Sims 4is carrying on with updates and quality of life improvements to help keep the title exciting and enjoyable nearly a decade after its initial launch. Lovestruck, the game’s forthcoming expansion, has many fans excited for the new additions to gameplay, including the ability for Sims to engage in polyamory relationships. However, this new function will be available to all players, and should help to speed up the process of creating outfits in the game.
FollowingThe Sims 4Lovestruckdeveloper livestream, Reddit user espurr560 took to the site to excitedly talk about the revealed ability to apply accessories to any and all outfits a Sim has available to them. In the video, the developers demonstrated it by giving their Sim glamorous eyelashes, another new feature that’s coming with the game’s update. After choosing eyelashes for their character, the developers pointed out a new icon near the top of the screen. Upon clicking on it, the option to apply the eyelashes to the Sim’s various outfits - Athletic, Sleep, Party, etc - was as simple as selecting which they wanted to add them to.
Of course, this isn’t simply limited to eyelashes. The developers indicate it should work with all major outfit accessories, so players can even do things like choose a set of shoes or glasses to apply to multipleSims 4outfits. This should reduce the tedium of having to add or remove an accessory repeatedly across multiple outfits, which can really add up across multiple sims.
Why Sims Players are Happy About the Accessories Update
Plenty of fans have been commenting on espurr560’s post about the update. Players are quite excited about this new ability, as it will likely save a ton of time. However, many have also noted that it’s taken far too long for an option like this to be added to the game. The ability to set up individual outfits depending on what a Sim is doing isn’t unique toThe Sims 4, making some fans wonder why it took this long for the developers to add this quality of life feature.
Players won’t have to wait long to get their hands onThe Sims 4’s new Lovestruck feature. The Sims 4Lovestruck DLC and base game update will be arriving on July 25.
