While the Polish-based development studio has said that a sequel toThe Witcher 3: Wild Huntis in development, any such game is likely many years away from release.As a result of this lack of content, some fans of the series have taken it upon themselves to bring Geralt to other games in any way possible.
In addition to serving as the protagonist of all threeWitchergames and appearing in the Netflix series of the same name, Geralt has made appearances in other titles such asSoulcalibur 6andMonster Hunter World.His gruff personality and distinctive fighting style, alternating between one steel and one silver sword depending on the enemy he’s facing, make Geralt an iconic character who can add unique flair to any game in which he appears. Geralt has become such an iconic video game protagonist that he was even parodied in the recently releasedTiny Tina’s Wonderlandsas “Geritt of Trivia,“a rather useless monster hunter who the player aids in a quest called “The Ditcher.”

On Reddit, a user going by u/IzukuDripdoriya69 brought Geralt of Rivia to yet another title:Lego DC Super Villains.Released in 2018, this action-adventure platformer is a spinoff of theLego Batmanseries focusing on some of DC Comics' darker figures, including The Joker, Lex Luthor, Harley Quinn, and more. It is the first of theDC Legogames to include a fully customizable player character, an option this Reddit user utilized to bring Geralt into the game. Their custom player character featured Geralt’s iconic white hair and black armor and wielded a sword in combat.
Responses on Reddit to u/IzukuDripdoriya69’s creation were predominantly positive, with some noticing in surprise how much Geralt resembled DC villain Slade Wilson, speculating that the Geralt-like face and hair might have originally come from a Slade model. Other commenters jokingly speculated about which lady DC villains Geralt would seduce were he to visit the world ofLego DC Super Villains,as Geralt is known for attracting multiple partners, and can get intovarious romancesas well as one-night stands inThe Witcher 3.
It is likely that fans ofThe Witcherseries will continue to use the downtime between games to engage in similar creative endeavors. Although a newThe Witchergame is in the works at CD Projekt RED, no release date has been announced, and it is speculated to still be several years away. In addition, anext-gen version of the game for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/Shas been delayed from a former Q2 2022 release window, with a new release date not yet announced.
