Netflix dropped an exciting new trailer forThe Witcher’ssecond season that promises even greater things to come for Geralt of Rivia and Ciri as war unfolds throughout the monster-plagued Continent.

The long-awaited reveal comes after months of carefully administered footage, posters and all types of teasers forThe Witcherto go along with the franchise’s first anime film and Vesemir prequelNightmare of the Wolf. AlthoughThe Witcher’sfirst season was not without criticism, Netflix has doubled down on its commitment to Andrzej Sapkowski’s famed franchise and season two already looks like it’s taking things to a whole new level.

The full trailer features plenty of new and returning characters with Geralt’s Witcher colleagues -including Vesemir- being one of the bigger highlights, as well as the likes of Nivellen and Nenneke. Besides a new crop of monsters being added to Netflix’s Witcher bestiary, many characters got entirely new looks, as is the case for the entire Nilfgaardian army and most notably Ciri, who finally has some actual eyebrows.

Music choice is a far cry from what fans ofThe Witcherhave become accustomed to, yet it may very well be worth it as the trailer ends with one huge payoff by having Geralt reunited with his good friend Jaskier. Thoughthe Wild Hunt’s appearance had been leaked before, the trailer suggests the plot will mainly be focused on Geralt training Ciri and the grander scheme of the Continent’s fate.

Unlike season one which split its storyline between three characters, this time around with Geralt and Ciri together it looks like their journey to and at Kaer Morhen will be the main event, while Yennefer’s misfortunes alongside Fringilla will be the biggest side quest to keep in mind. Among the new monsters featured is a Leshy like the oneVesemir fights inNightmare of the Wolf, only now seen in the full wonder of modern CGI.

With CD Projekt Red delaying itsnext-gen upgrades forThe WitcherandCyberpunk 2077, it seems like Netflix will be the place to find a revamped Geralt as production values for the entire show seem to have been dialed up on all fronts. The streaming giant has vowed to makeThe Witcherits prime fantasy franchise with plans to offer everything from original prequels likeBlood Origin, awesome Witcher merchandise, new anime content, and even a family-friendlyThe Witcheradorn its Kids section.

The Witcherseason two is coming to Netflix on July 31, 2025.
