Another week is coming to a close, and so Valve has issued its latest list ofSteam’s top ten bestsellers. Those who follow trends in PC gaming likely already know what’s coming. The viral popularity ofValheimthat raised the game to #1 last week hasn’t subsided in the slightest. If anything, its popularity has only grown. That’s whyValheimis yet again the #1 game onSteamfor the current week, and it’s going to be hard to bet against it next week, too.
Valheimlaunched into Early Access exclusively on Steam in early February and was immediately a success. The game’s mix of cooperative multiplayer, survival gameplay, and progression ramps with increased difficulty made it a perfect fit for Twitch streamers and their fans. Just in the past 24 hours,Valheimhas once again broken its concurrent player record, climbing precariously close to 350,000 worldwide players at one time, despiteValheimhaving a save-destroying bug.

Second place on the list is perhaps the biggest surprise of this week’s top ten. Once again,Tale of Immortalhas come in second place on Steam’s top-selling games list. This is the third week in a row thatTale of Immortalhas come in second place. The open-world sandbox game was developed by a Chinese indie team and remains hugely popular in the country. The fact that it doesn’t have a western localization yet shows just how big the Chinese Steam market continues to be.
New entries on this week’s top ten, or at least new in that they weren’t on the list last week, includePlayerUnknown’s Battleground,HuniePop 2: Double Date, andSea of Thieves. BothPUBGandSea of Thievesclimbed back onto the list due in part to an ongoing Lunar New Year sale. PUBG hasn’t been on the list since the start of Steam’s Christmas sale in early December.Huniepop 2is an adult dating gamethat launched this past week.
Other games on the list includeNioh 2 - The Complete Edition,Rust, the Valve Index VR Kit,Cyberpunk 2077, andDyson Sphere Program. Rust notably climbed two positions whileDyson Sphere Programnotably dropped four. Again, the introduction of a sales price in the former’s case and the lack of a sale in the latter’s case very likely influenced the rankings.
As for games that fell off the list, the pre-purchases forTotal War: Warhammer 3andMass Effect Legendary Editionboth heavily fell off. That’s understandable, given that the games won’t be out for some time yet. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - GOTY Edition also dropped off. It’s not a particularly tumultuous week, but there’s still plenty of great games on Steam to keep an eye on.
