Developer Riot Games is known for sometimes paying tribute toValorantplayers via battle pass items, and this is exactly what it did when it created the Corbin’s Light gun buddy to honor a fan who passed away from cancer. Players can get the charm along with new cosmetic items that may hint at the game’s lore, elements connected to upcomingValorantagents, or future maps.
Riot Games recently launchedValorantEpisode 5 Act III, the final chapter of the Dimension episode. Players were treated to a new controller agent from India named Harbor, who can control water, and a new version of the fan-favorite Ion skin line. The developer also teased a collaboration with gaming peripheral brand Secretlab this month, and a Give Back // 2022 Bundle from November 16 to 30.

EveryValorantact has a new battle pass, which includes free and premium cosmetic items that players can get as they grind the game. Episode 5 Act III includes the Corbin’s Light gun buddy to honor a member of theValorantcommunity. With the help of Corbin’s brother, Riot Games associate integration artist Catalina Faerman designed a blue star inspired by the actual star that the Make-a-Wish Foundation named after Corbin. This is a free item that players can get after earning 23,000 XP in the battle pass.
Additionally, Riot Games pledged to make a donation via the Riot Games Social Impact Fund to the C-Squad Foundation, which was started by Corbin’s family in his honor. Corbin’s Light isn’t the first battle pass item that Riot Games created to honor a player. Back in April, devs paid tribute to Finest, the Filipino player responsible for the “Revive me, Jett” meme who passed away last year, with the “Finest” game tag during Episode 4 Act III. They also made an adorablegun buddy named “Good Boy Bruno"last year to celebrate the life of Bruno the Corgi.
Valorant, just like any other competitive first-person shooting game, has many passionate fans around the world. It’s no surprise that Riot Games would take the time to show its appreciation to dedicated players. It would even incorporatesome viralValorantonline memesto battle pass items, like the “This Is Also Fine” spray featuring Phoenix surrounded by flames.
Equally important is how Riot Games would address bugs with eachpatch, even if it means temporarilydisabling competitive queue to fix aValorantexploitsometimes. Fortunately for them, the community can see the dedication, and it’s certainly looking strong. They can also expect more Easter eggs in theValorantbattle pass in future acts.
