Developed by Black Lab Games,Warhammer 40,000: Battlesectorbrings players back to the war torn universe ofWarhammer 40,000through combat between the Blood Angels and the Tyranids. It originally launched on June 02, 2025 on PC and had planned a console version since then, according to its content roadmap.

This fast-paced turn-based strategy game will appear mostly intact in its new form but the publisher, Slitherine, does note that the asynchronous multiplayer system won’t feature in the new console version. Slitherine does comment that it believes the live multiplayer matches and the inclusion of hot-seat multiplayer, “more than makes up for it.” The first DLCs for the game were also announced and will be released the same day as the console version of the game. For fans ofWarhammer 40,000’s Tyranidsthere is the Tyranid Elites Pack through which players get access to the Broodlord and Hive Guard. For those who wish to add to their Space Marine forces there is the Blood Angels Elites Pack which adds the Assault Terminators and Sanguinary Guard.
While players wait forWarhammer 40,000: Darktideto release, this announcement comes at a great time. This edition is a welcome one for those who were looking for aWarhammer 40,000game on consoles. BecauseWarhammer 40,000: Battlesectorhas been well-received thus far, it will likely be one of the better games in the franchise to make this transition.
Bringing a PC game to console can be a challenge but Slitherine mention that it feels that it has “maintained the visual fidelity and gameplay pace of the PC version.” It hasn’t cracked thelist of the bestWarhammer 40,000gamesas of yet but, as long as that statement proves to be true, thenWarhammer 40,000: Battlesectoron console should be a success.
Then again, porting games can be result in a weaker offering on a console. A lot of what makes the game successful needs to be recreated well to guarantee its success on console.
