It’s hard enough dealing with a giant rat infestation inWarhammer: Vermintide 2, but angryChaos fanaticsand stinky Beastmen all had to join the fray. That means the Empire needs some backup, and no other fantasy world reinforcements arrive more stylishly than elves, specifically Kerillian the Wood Elf.

InWarhammer: Vermintide 2, it’s easy to presume that Kerillian is a purely ranged class. However, she’s actually not just a Jack-of-all-trades, but she’s also good at those trades. In fact, Kerillian is often considered an overpowered class. All her weapons are good, but if players want the best for this she-elf, then here they are.
How to unlock
Cons
Kerillian’s melee weapon roster can get rather confusing due to the homogenous weapons. She doesn’t usually favor slow and hard-hitting sticks, but that makes her playstyle easier to understand. Just grab some fast weapons and slice and dice some rat meat (not for cooking, of course).
The Sword and Dagger thus provides the best balance out of all hermelee weapons. Dual Daggers lack range, and Dual Swords lack damage over time, but Sword and Dagger is the best of both worlds. The best part is that players don’t have to grind for them.
Any elflooking for a weapon with practically no downsides can’t go wrong with the Elven Spear. This graceful weapon gives Kerillian staggering amounts of versatility and safety. What gives the Elven Spear a clear advantage is the range, speed, and the combo that can stunlock hordes.

The said combo has two stun attacks followed by a wide-sweeping attack, perfect for crowd control. The weapon virtually has no downside; despite the low Dodge Count, players won’t need to dodge too much due to the wide block angle and the safer range.
Oh, but Kerillian inWarhammer: Vermintide 2can be even more protected. She also has a shield variant of her Elven Spear, and it can turn her into a tank if she pursues the Handmaiden career. Thanks to the shield, the weapon’s shove becomes one of the best methods of crowd control under the Handmaiden’s, er, hands.
What it does lack compared to the normal Elven Shield is the more robust light attacks for hordes. The Spear and Shield is more ideal for poking holes into heavily armored enemies due to the abundance of stab attacks. The block angle might be narrower compared to the spear, but it’s a lot more durable.
As impressive as her spears are in the game, Kerillian’s best bet againstarmored foesis still the Glaive. This polearm doesn’t really sacrifice much of Kerillian’s fast and agile playstyle; it still has fast attacks and combos despite the high damage.

The best part is that most of the attacks from the Glaive penetrate armor— even the blocking attack. Players will be sacrificing a lot of safety and toughness, however, since the Glaive is not really good for blocking. But the range makes up for that weakness.
For players who prefer to tackle armored threats from afar, then the Longbow is Kerillian’s ideal weapon. It’s her sniping tool and thus has a long zoom or magnification, allowing playersto single-out priority targets that can disrupt team dynamics and cohesion.
It’s not as fast as the Switfbow, of course. The Longbow will punish users who are not adamant about their actions and tend to just fire blindly or in a panic. This weapon demands intermediate accuracy; otherwise, there will be lots of wasted shots.
The Swiftbow is a good alternative for bow users who don’t have the patience for the Longbow. It’s a weapon meant to be fired from the hip and, thus, has no zoom. This means players will stay nearer to the action in order to maximize the weapon’s rapid-fire potential and accuracy.

But despite having poor sniping capabilities, the Swiftbow is still great for dealing damage to armored enemies since the aim variant of the attacks have significant armor penetration. To counterbalance this, the hip or rapid fire has absolutely no armor penetration, which is a fair trade-off.
Kerillian practically has a complete kit in her arsenal. Her Hagbane Shortbow is a ranged variant of her weapons that allows her to quickly deal with hordes in a devastating manner, through poison. The Hagbane’s charged attacks will unleash a small explosion in an area.
This explosion also deals poison damage and will damage armored enemies. Thus, it’s an awesome weapon for boss fights and tanky enemies. Players can even forget the rather decent rapid-fire hip-firing mode in favor of the poison bomb attacks.
The Briar Javelin is for when players don’t want to switch weapons too much. Because this Javelin also counts as a melee weapon. The normal attack is practically a spear moveset, while the alternate attack will throw the weapon with some destructive effects to armored enemies.
It’s one of the best weapons for dealing damage to armored enemies while still having enough firepower to push back hordes that come with boss fights. Players might need to fork out some cash, however, since it’s only obtainable via the Sister of Thorne Career.
Warhammer Vermintide 2is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
