It has been a year ever since Nintendo confirmedThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2by releasingthe game’s debut trailer at E3 last year. Since then, the studio has been silent about the sequel’s development, and no concrete information was released on what to expect in the upcoming game.
Several days ago, it appears that the Collector’s Edition ofThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2has been leaked by a French retailer. At the moment, Nintendo hasn’t spoken out about the alleged leak, so players should take it with a grain of salt. However, if this turns out to be true, what is included in the Collector’s Edition ofBreath of the Wild 2, and what does this leak mean for the actual release date of the game?

What The Leaked Breath of The Wild 2 Collector’s Edition Could Contain
Unfortunately, the leaked Collector’s Edition ofBreath of the Wild 2by French retailer WT&T did not specify the exact details of this special bundle. If true, then it is possible that Nintendo itself hasn’t sorted out what to include in the game’s Collector’s Edition. However, looking back at the special editions of the firstBreath of the Wildgame, then it is safe to assume that the sequel’s Collector’s Edition could include more or less similar trinkets such as the soundtrack, a physical map, a statue, and some small thingamabobs. As far as pricing is concerned, the leaked Collector’s Edition is priced at €82.85, which is roughly $100. It is worth noting that the Special Edition ofBreath of the Wildwas around that same price while the Master Edition had an SRP of $129.99.
Although it is disappointing that the leaked information by WT&T did not exactly reveal what the Collector’s Edition of the sequel will contain, at least this confirms thatBreath of the Wild 2could release in two or more versions, assuming that the leak is genuine. However, one thing that the leaked info did reveal is a release date. In its listing, it was indicated that The Legend of Zelda:Breath of the Wild 2will be available on June 06, 2025. But, given that this date is just a few months away, it is likely just a placeholder, which is not uncommon for listings.
What Does The Leaked Collector’s Edition Mean for Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2?
Given that the leaked information aboutBreath of the Wild 2’sCollector’s Edition remains unconfirmed by Nintendo, then it is likely that this doesn’t really mean anything for the upcoming sequel. Of course, it is no doubt that a lot of people are anticipating the release ofZelda: Breath of the Wild 2given the massive successthat the first game was able to achieve when it was launched in 2017. Additionally, even if the leaked Collector’s Edition does exist, it is likely that the retailer put up the listing as a mere placeholder for the upcoming game.
On the other hand, the leaked Collector’s Edition could also be an indicator that an official announcement aboutBreath of the Wild 2will be released soon. In the past, it has been a trend forinformation about a game in development to be leakedmere weeks or even days before an official announcement from the game’s developers. So if this is the case, then when can players expect an update from Nintendo about the upcoming sequel?
At the moment, Nintendo still hasn’t announced any upcoming Direct presentation in the near future. The last one was anIndie World showcasethat ran about 20 minutes long and focused on indie games coming to the Nintendo Switch. Of course, it wouldn’t be unlikely for Nintendo to release a surprise update aboutBreath of the Wild 2. However, as it stands now, it appears that leaked Collector’s Edition is just a mere placeholder for the upcoming sequel.
