Jujutsu Kaisens' Characters Are Perfect For The World of Fortnite

SinceFortnitebecame a worldwide phenomenon, Epic Games has been partnering up with different franchises to deliver new skins and cosmetics. Oftentimes, these partnerships allow parts of the battle royale to be altered to fit the theme of the collaboration. For example, in both 2021 and 2023 for its respectiveSpider-Mancrossovers, web-slinging was ushered into the game.

In the beginning, the battle royale seemed focused more on superheroes and live-action mediums than anything from anime. Characters from major anime IPs were not broughttoFortniteuntil 2021 withNaruto. However, after the introduction ofNarutocame titles such asDragon Ball Super,Attack on Titan, andMy Hero Academia.

Since it wasleaked thatJujutsu Kaisenwould be crossing overwithFortnite, Epic Games revealed that it that should go live on August 8 during Update 25.30. This will usher in sorcerers Gojo, Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara whose backstories and abilities are simply perfect for the game. Players will be able to wield Cursed Tools, don new skins, and will likely be able to complete themed quests.

While theAttack on Titancrossover saw the addition of ODM Gear and Thunder Spears,Jujutsu Kaisenhas its own unique elements. Though it hasn’t been confirmed if this will happen, Cursed Spirits could appear around the island. It would also be interesting if players could cast spells against enemies. Perhaps this could act similarly to the Force fromthe recentStar WarsFortniteevent.

Additionally,Jujutsu Kaisen’sworld could learn a lot from theMy Hero AcademiaFortnitecrossoverandDragon Ball Supercrossover. Each has characters with supernatural abilities that need a way to be innovative for the game but not too overpowered. Some people believed drops such as Deku’s Smash and Kamehameha were too oppressive, and this is something that Epic Games may want to avoid in the future.

A lot of excitement forJujutsu Kaisenrevolves around Satoru Gojo and Yuji Itadori’s possessed counterpart, so it may be beneficial for Epic Games to focus on these two. There’s definitely potential to highlight both characters while also introducing new mechanics such as cursed techniques to the shooter.

Truly, this crossover comes at an ideal time for both franchises. IfFortnitecontinues with its anime collaborations, then other shows likeDemon SlayerandOne Piececould be next on the list. It’s unlikely that another anime partnership will occur duringChapter 4 Season 3 ofFortnitesince it should be coming to an end on August 25. Regardless, it should be exciting to see what Epic Games does next.
