Since its inception in 2012, Did You Know Gaming has grown into one of the most well-known gaming-oriented channels on YouTube, featuring a variety of trivia and fun facts about beloved franchises. The channel has often featured gaming YouTubers as guests including names like Jontron, Game Grumps' Arin Hanson, andSolid Snake voice actor David Hayteramong others. Now, the massively popular channel has reportedly been hacked.Hacks and account compromises are nothing new within the streaming space, withYouTubeand Twitch creators often having to deal with malicious parties. Popular creators likeOverwatchpro Super and even the late Reckful have seen their channels compromised by hackers looking to cash in on their massive following. Even major companies have not been safe from the growing community of hackers with companies like 2K and Nvidia targeted by hacks. Now, Did You Know Gaming is the newest channel to fall victim to a malicious hack.RELATED:Reckful YouTube Channel HackedThe official Twitter account for Did You Know Gaming shared the news on Friday afternoon, revealing that the Google account attached to the channel had been hacked. The YouTube channel’s name, banner, and description were replaced with branding for cryptocurrency company Ripple. All ofDid You Know Gaming’s videoswere also changed to private, blocking off access to the years of gaming videos from the channel. Did You Know Gaming re-assured fans that it was working to get in contact with YouTube to recover the account, with YouTube’s official “Team YouTube” account replying to the post.

The hack of Did You Know Gaming comes just months after the YouTube channel engaged in a high-profile conflict with Nintendo, following actions taken by the developer. Did You Know Gaming was the target of Nintendo’s notoriously harsh copyright policy with the developerstriking a video aboutHeroes of Hyrule, aZeldaspinoff pitch from Retro Studios. Did You Know Gaming would eventually win its appeal of the video’s takedown with YouTube re-instating the video. Popular YouTuber The Completionist also reportedly saw fallout from the hack, with his side channel “Super Beard Bros” also being targeted.
